  • “Love this charming remote Campsite"

We absolutely loved this camping spot. It is remote and like wilderness camping with some nice amenities such as electricity, bathroom and shower. There is another covered space with picnic tables where we sat and played cards during a rain storm. We have a small rv trailer and 4x4 1/2 ton pickup and had no problems getting to the camp site but it is a rough and narrow road with a creek crossing. It is packed well and even with it raining some each day there was no ruts or slippage when going up the hill.

Very peaceful and quiet with lots of charm. Hope to get to return in the future.

  • "Secluded perfection"

Loved this site! Secluded but with great amenities like electricity and a bathroom/shower with hot water. Host was so easy to work with. Elizabeth gave perfect, specific directions and responded to all questions super fast. Thanks for a great stay. We will be back!

  • "Rustic, secluded cabin"

We really enjoyed our time at Elizabeth’s place. We typically do dispersed camping, and really like the peace and quiet that can be hard to find at campgrounds. Despite that, having a bathroom, shower, and some amenities is nice. This place offers the best of both worlds. Elizabeth’s cabin is off a fairly low-traffic forest service road and it’s truly secluded. We really enjoyed having the bathroom and shower, as well as the provided propane heater to have some warmth and shelter while camping. We will definitely be back!

  • "Perfect secluded area"

A perfect secluded area! A fun adventure to arrive at site as well. Directions and communication with Elizabeth were super clear. Bathrooms were a bonus to have in the forest while camping, very well

kept. The Big House was a sweet spot, functional as well, can’t wait to go back!

Go here! Create memories! You won’t regret it :)

  • "Trailer camping with young children"

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Rustic Camp. It was exactly what we were hoping for as we did our best to have a more remote camping experience near the most visited national park. At first we were worried the camp would be a bit far from the hikes and attractions, but it was centrally located to Gatlinburg, Cherokee and Asheville. Our young kids loved playing around the site and felt safe to explore. Our dog felt right at home!

Matt and Elizabeth were wonderful hosts! Matt shared some nearby hikes (Big Creek Trail) and an incredible overlook (Max Patch) which turned out to be our favorite excursions of our whole trip. Elizabeth thoughtfully checked in on us after a very windy night. The bathhouse was clean and we especially appreciated the hot shower and extra amenities that gave everyone in our family creature comforts on our first major road trip with young children.

We were hauling a 21 foot camper trailer behind and extended F150 and we should have scoped out where to park before I pulled into the site (but being on a steep slope I went for it!). It was a bit harrowing to get turned around and I’m not sure anything bigger could have managed it. The road was well maintained but the camp is set back is quite a ways on winding and narrow gravel roads.

Not being from an area with forest fires, we were surprised to find a fire ban in place during our trip so no camp fires. But we were too busy exploring to mind! Would love to stay here again!
